What A Week

January 8th, 2008

Such a tiring week. I can’t barely breathe. As the school starts, we teachers start off the week like a robot! I don’t know wether the same goes to ther school. But mine is nothing less like that. With a lot of things have to be settled, plus the after school meetings. Sometimes I feel like sleeping while listening to my principal’s briefing. The turning point. Yes, for educators like us, this is the time. Even if you are sick, you don’t feel like taking a medical leave. Otherwise, your absence will affect the school operation. And you will be remembered as the person who ruins the system. Your reputation is highly tested during this crucial period.

Oh my! Do I sound like overly reacted? Hm.. This is my personal view. I remembered overhearing my friends talking about how the media had concluded our career as the ‘most relaxing’ job. I think this opinion comes out due to the long and continuous school breaks. The fact is true in certain ways. But the public does not know that we ( I mean most of us) usually stretch the limits while fulfulling our responsibilities. Some of us organise a free of charge tuition for our students during the weekends. That is just a usual example. Some even become a frequent donators for the less fortunate students. And we never exaggerate our good deeds because we teachers, consider that as part of our ‘informal responsibility’.

So, for me, the long and continous school breaks is considered as something gifted to us. After a long and over-the-limit duties, we are given the time for ourselves. Isn’t it fair?
