Menunggu
March 27th, 2008
Kita hanya mampu menunggu
hari-hari yang tak terungkap oleh kata-kata.
Tentang sebuah mimpi
lebih agung dari harapan
belum mampu kulakar dalam ayat
bersimpul kemas antara senyuman dan pandangan .
Buds of Tomorrow

You are not the sun for me
but certainly the lively star
that shines softly but surely
You did not give your heart to me
but pieces of your soul
are parts of my hope
This will not last
for time will part us
but good deeds are too good to forget
too nice to be taken away from thought
I will remember your innocent eyes
I see your soul grows
your awkward gestures
don’t seem imperfect to me
My beloved students
you are buds of tomorrow
Alone

( A Liberian refugee child.photo credit to happily saved)
Ada derita yang tersisa
pada sepasang mata kecil.
Aku cuma insan kecil
menghadapi sengsara yang besar
dengan jiwa kecil ini
cepat belajar makna cekal.
Kerana Tuhan itu amat penyayang
diberi janji buat pedoman
ubat mustajab hati yang teraniaya
“Sesungguhnya setiap kesukaran itu disusuli kemudahan”
“The soul that sees beauty may sometimes walk alone.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Kerana Aku Perempuan
March 3rd, 2008
Kerana aku perempuan
maka aku perlu lebih sabar
kerana perempuan dan sabar mesti sepadu
hukum alam mengatakan begitu.
Kerana aku perempuan
maka banyak kali aku mengalah
bukan kerana terasa lemah
jiwa yang lembut bencikan kekerasan
perempuan dan kelembutan adalah perlambangan.
Kerana aku perempuan
maka puisi ini kutuliskan mudah
supaya aku selalu paham
aku seorang perempuan
perlu sabar, harus mengalah..
The Road Not Taken
February 19th, 2008

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
two roads diverged in a wood, and I –
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
